Be A FAMILY Hotline Volunteer

High on the short-list of really good choices I’ve made is the decision to volunteer at FAMILY... Other volunteers have said they chose to volunteer because the wanted to give back, be useful, help battered women, or improve their karma. Whatever. All of that motivated me but my satisfaction is the rush of feeling better that comes when I make someone else feel better... No way would I leave FAMILY.
- Kiki, FAMILY Hotline Volunteer

FAMILY’s Volunteer Training is offered during the year at each of the Hotline/Walk-In Centers. The training introduces a host of community resources, both within and outside of the FAMILY organization. But it is the power of listening that takes center stage in the training experience. People often say that the FAMILY Volunteer Training transformed their lives: they learned to communicate with their wives or children; they really came to understand how difficult life is for so many of their neighbors; they felt the power of realizing they can make a difference in someone else’s life.

Many people volunteer at FAMILY and don’t work on the Hotline. We can help you find ways to help FAMILY help in your community.
